The ships had a stand-down for the next few months to allow sailor to go home on liberty and to complete upgrades and repairs to the ships. This is the period that most of them received the cage mast as an addition to the ship. From September 25 to October 9, 1909 a group of the battleships went north to New York Harbor to join ships from other nations in the celebration.

On this card the signature can be seen as H. O. Brown. This is part confirmation that Brown & Schaffer are the two Musicians onboard the USS Georgia. After they return it appears Brown went to work doing postcards with his brother in Newport News.
