The cards that Petty Officer DeMoss put in his scrap book are "real." He did not select "snapies" of historic sites or events. They were cards of what he was experiencing, a testament to the photographer. From the subject of the cards, which includes many images of Marines, the photographer might have been part of the Marine Detachment onboard the USS Kansas. Who knew that posit pads could adhere permanently. On many of the card the seller chose to apply notes using "posit pad" that were left on for some time. These affixed to the cards which I have not tried to remove further that what is shown in the images.
