One of the most complete group of cards that I have from Brown & Shaffer are from the fleet's visit to Columbo, Ceylon. As best I can tell, only 30 photographs were taken in this port.

This image of a sailor riding an elephant in Kandy, Ceylon was one of the most popular photographs taken by Brown & Shaffer during the cruise. It was later sold, with a group of other photographs, to Stratton & Stratton and made into a color photograph after the cruise.
